Penetration Rate
Definition
The percentage of customers who purchase a specific F&I product out of total retail units sold.
Why It Matters
High penetration rates indicate effective presentation and value communication. Tracking penetration by product helps identify training opportunities and product mix optimization.
Examples
- If 80 out of 100 customers purchase GAP insurance, your GAP penetration rate is 80%
- Elite F&I managers achieve 75-85%+ penetration on core protection products
